An ab wheel is a simple yet effective piece of exercise equipment that targets the muscles of the core, including the abdominals, obliques, and lower back. Using an ab wheel involves a rolling motion that engages these muscles and strengthens them..
1. Start by kneeling on the floor with the wheel in front of you. Place your hands on the handles of the wheel, and slowly roll the wheel forward, keeping your back straight and your abs engaged. As you roll forward, keep your arms straight and avoid letting your hips sag.
2. When you have extended as far as you can while maintaining proper form, hold the position for a few seconds before slowly rolling the wheel back to the starting position. Repeat the motion for several repetitions, gradually increasing the number of reps as you become stronger.
