Tasty add ins are mushrooms, spinach, chestnuts, seaweed, and left over cooked meats/fish if you like. Add these in at the same time as the miso paste. Get creative. Serve with some pickles.

1. add grains to pot add water- 6x the weight of rice- 60g of rice = 360g water bring to a simmer and cover for 15 min stir and add ginger simmer 5 min stir and add miso paste and any additional items that need minimal cooking, i.e. spinach, mushroom, etc. simmer 5 min turn off heat and fold in beaten egg let sit for 5 min season with soy sauce and garnish with scallions
